The project is still going well and is on programme for completion by the end of September. All concrete repairs are now complete, along with the four coats of bridge deck waterproofing. The HB and high containment kerbs have also been installed, with final grouting to secure them still ongoing. The asphalt running surface installation commenced on 10 July and will be finished in the coming days. The asphalt is laid over the the bridge carriageway in a continuous "pour" and must only be stopped at the movement joints. The asphalt that is laid over the joint locations is cut out with a still saw and then removed by a pneumatic hammer. This allows the joint team to insert the new joints, which are fixed in place with resin. Around 18 joints have been installed to date, with 46 joints required in total. The ramps resurfacing and joint installation will start on or around the 5th August, and an update on how this will affect drivers will be provided in the next few days.
